The time has finally come. The R6 SIEGE X major evolution will launch at the same time as Season 2 – Operation Daybreak on June 10, 2025.
Maintenance Start Time : 07:00am PDT / 10:00am EDT / 03:00pm BST / 16:00 CEST / 17:00 AST / 22:00 CST / 23:00 JST / 12:00am (June 11) AEST

R6 Siege X will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Although the brand new game mode Dual Front will not be supported on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
If you are concerned about your current progression, worry no more. If you have bought and played the game before the launch of R6 Siege X on June 10 you will keep your current progression, inventory and operators.
Veteran Rewards are also coming to the game. This means the longer you have been playing the game the more rewards you will receive. For example you will receive a badge that can be displayed on your operator card showcasing the year you began your Siege journey. For those who started playing at the time of the games release in 2015, you receive a special weapon skin similar to the iconic Black Ice.
Here is a breakdown of all the changes coming:
1. Siege X will see the game transitioning to a free-to-play model, offering:
- Free Access: New players can play Quick Match, Unranked, Dual Front, and training modes, with 26 unlockable Operators.
- Paid Upgrades: Ranked mode and Siege Cup unlock at Level 50 for premium players.
2. Dual Front
A permanent 6v6 respawn-based mode with mixed Attacker/Defender teams:
- Map: District, a mirrored urban battleground with a dynamic Neutral Sector.
- Gameplay: In-match Assignments (timed objectives) and Operator swaps on respawn.
3. Modernized Maps & Destructible Environments
Five classic maps receive visual and tactical upgrades:
- Launch Maps: Clubhouse, Chalet, Border, Bank, and Kafe with 4K textures, improved lighting, and new destructible objects (e.g., fire extinguishers, gas pipes).
- Future Updates: Three more maps per season (e.g., Nighthaven, Consulate in Y10S3).
4. Tactical Gameplay Overhauls
Core Mechanics
- Advanced Rappel: Horizontal sprinting and corner jumps during rappelling.
- New Pick & Ban: Teams ban one Operator per round (max six bans per match).
- Electricity Rework: Now neutral (damages all gadgets) and slows Operators instead of injuring them.
Audio & Movement
- Sound Revamp: Improved reverb and directional audio for pinpoint accuracy.
- Momentum System: Maintain speed after short drops; long falls interrupt ADS.
With these huge changes, we are getting a Clash Rework, LMG & Shield Adjustments, a Communication Wheel, Anti-Cheat updates and a fresh UI Refresh. For a more detailed breakdown as to what is to come, view the Roadmap here from Ubisoft.
